Best Low Carb Meals for Beginners

What I Eat in a Day

I recently decided to ease into a low carb lifestyle when I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome(PCOS). Never in my life have I been successful at losing weight. The low carb lifestyle is a sure way of dropping at least ten pounds. As long as you are committed to it.

Cutting out carbs is not easy. So I started slowly. I cut out all white bread and replaced it with nothing but whole grains. Then I started creating recipes that a picky eater like me could enjoy.

Breakfast

Breakfast is in fact the most important meal of the day. I found that eating a very heavy breakfast(with complex carbs) keeps me full until lunch and helps with preventing any low blood sugar spells. Especially the more protein you add.

My favorite breakfast by far has been avocado toast with eggs, tomatoes and lemon water. It is a very filling and fresh breakfast.

 

Lunch

One of the easiest(and tastiest) recipes I have come to love is burger bowls. I like them because they are very customizable to the person easting it. Plus if you are into meal prepping this is a crazy easy lunch to prepare and pack. You can season the burgers any way you like and add whatever veggies you see fit! The great thing about low carb, you can add as much cheese as you want too!

 

 

Dinner

By this time I am usually not hungry for a huge meal. So for dinner I usually try to make something that has plenty of protein but isn’t too heavy. My favorite recipe that I have come up with so far is my Honey Garlic Baked Chicken (leave a comment below if you want the full recipe). I usually pair it with corn and green beans. I think it would also be good if you wanted to treat yourself with some rice and broccoli instead. Trust me when I say this chicken is GOOD and super easy to make.
